Great book on Paleontology; highly recommend the following 99-cent Kindle books on dinosaur hunting in "bone war" days:
1. The Life of a Fossil Hunter (1909)
2. Hunting Dinosaurs in the Bad Lands of the Red Deer River, Alberta, Canada: A Sequel to The Life of a Fossil Hunter (1917)

Dinosaurs With Special Reference to the American Museum Collections William Diller Matthew 9781374977006 Books Reviews

While the information was very dated, it was great from a historical perspective. Nice to see how our views of Paleontology have changed over the past century. A good read as long as the "facts" are viewed from that historical platform. Glad that I read it.
Interesting read.
I never knew that theree were so many dinosaurs
Who doesn't love dinosaurs? A great book. Of course it is older and leaves out newer finds but still interesting none the less.
None of the pictures made it into the e-book edition, and the book itself was all information that is 100 years old.
FIrst, it's dated, but that's ok. It gives a historical perspective on our understanding of dinosaurs. The main problem is that the illustrations are missing.
Unfortunately, although there are references to figures within this version, there are no images to illustrate the points made. An PDF version WITH the illustrations can be found at The Internet Archive (https//archive.org/details/dinosaurswithspe00matt). You can download the ePub versions WITH illustrations (free) at Project Gutenberg (www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/19302).
